Your Guide to Pride Weekend at Grey Hawk!

Grey Hawk Bar & Garden’s Pride Festival is Saturday, June 21 from 10:00am – 9:00pm at 111 Resort Lane in Lake Lure, NC. We're looking forward to a fun time for all!

Here's a quick orientation with what you need to know about the festival and this weekend overall:

Logistics & Timing:

  • ALL DAY (10am-9pm) – We’ll have food, drinks, gift/craft vendors, free kids’ crafts, lawn games, glitter/temporary tattoo stations, fun places to take photos (BYO phone/camera!) and more available all day long.

  • There is no admission fee or cost to attend, or to participate in activities like craft stations, body art, music, etc. Of course, food and drinks will be available for purchase, and the craft vendors have some amazing items for sale as well.

  • We’ll have festival-style food (think: food truck vibes) available to order from an order counter on the Grey Hawk deck. There will be a selection of entrees, delicious, hand-made baguette sandwiches and sides, fashioned so that we can keep up with the demand of what we expect will be a busy day. You can see the full menu here.

  • We’ve also got some delicious drinks – themed cocktails, beer, wine, sodas/juices, and more. You’ll order everything from this counter, receive a number, and your order will be delivered to you. We ask that you linger in the gravel courtyard so we can find you! See the full menu.

  • For all of your coffee and espresso and tea needs, The Hatchling Coffee House will be open 8:00am until 3:00pm. We will take ALL orders for coffees and pastries exclusively at the coffee house.

What You'll Do:

  • In addition to eating great food, drinking great drinks, and loving the outdoors, there's plenty to do! Listen to live music and watch live performances all day long (see below)

  • We'll also have some remarks from community leaders – including Scout, Julia, Kelsey, Allison, Amanda, and George! We'll have folks share a few words at 3:00pm and 6:30pm.

  • Craft vendors and organizations with resources will be available for most of the afternoon! Special thanks to the Campaign for Southern Equality and PFLAG Asheville for attending!

  • There will be Lawn games, board games, and plenty of space for kids to play

  • There will be Free crafts that are fun for the whole family, including coloring pages and more. These will be available throughout the day while supplies last.

Live Performance Schedule:

  • 12–3pm: Live music from The Otter Dogs

  • 3pm: Remarks from community leaders and advocates

  • 3:30pm-6:15pm: Live music from The Songbird Collective

  • 6:15pm: Remarks from community leaders and advocates

  • 6:30-7:30pm: Pride Showcase! Belly dancing, burlesque-style entertainment from The Scarab Sisters and drag performances by Nova Jynah and Josie Glamoure

  • 7:30-9:00pm: Pop hits and Pride anthems on the Sonos – dance if the spirit moves you!

Notes on Logistics:

  • We expect this to be a well-attended event! Consider coming on the earlier side! Grey Hawk is a lovely place to hang out for a few hours.

  • Please be mindful when it comes to parking and consider carpooling – there is free onsite parking, and we have overflow parking – just see the parking attendant / greeter if you can't find a spot! Follow directions, don’t park anyone in, etc. We want this to be fun and delightful for everyone.

  • There will not be table service at this event – you’ll place an order at a counter, help yourself to water, silverware, and napkins, and find a space around the property that works for y’all. We’ve got small tables, big tables, picnic tables, and more – please be mindful, and share if need be! We also strongly encourage folks to consider a picnic blanket set-up on our lawn. We’ll have some blankets, but please consider bringing your own, too!

  • Need support during the festival? Find a Grey Hawk staff member or go to the Host Stand by the front patio, and they’ll point you in the right direction!
